Steve Viterbo, a native of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, played men’s basketball for Young Harris College from 2010 to 2014, helping restart the program in its inaugural season. Over his career, Viterbo scored 1,067 points, grabbed 544 rebounds, and added 226 assists, 162 steals, and 56 blocked shots. He ranks third in the YHC record books in points, points per game (11.7), field goals made (373), rebounds, steals, and games played (91). He is fourth in assists and minutes played (2,882), sixth in three-pointers (123), and seventh in free throws (118). Viterbo was named to the GABC NCAA Division II All-State Honorable Mention and served as President of the YHC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in 2013–14. After graduating, he returned as an assistant coach for the Mountain Lions from 2015 to 2018, helping the team earn a share of the Peach Belt West Division title during the 2016–17 season. Today, Steve works as a Commercial Operations Manager for ICE Recycling in Lake City, South Carolina.
