YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | An early "kill shot" gave the Mountain Lions a 16-0 lead and they never looked back. A kill shot in college basketball is defined by going on a run that includes scoring 10 or more points while not allowing your opponent to score at all. A kill shot typically leads to a team having great success and the Mountain Lions proved that true tonight. Except they didn't have just one, Young Harris went on three 10-0 or greater runs throughout the game tonight which is an impressive feat. What led to these runs was the dominance inside from Annalise Malone and Chassidy Fedd who both recorded double-doubles in the victory.
The Mountain Lions advance to 15-5 overall and are 9-3 in Conference Carolinas. The Flying Fleet move to 1-17 overall and are 0-9 in Conference Carolinas.
HEAD COACH LINDSEY HUFFMAN ON WHAT LED TO THE QUICK START:
"I always attribute our offensive success to how locked in we are on the defensive end. We set the tone tonight on defense, which takes so much pressure off the offense. I've been very pleased with how our team has started games lately. They have had an extra layer of focus from the tip, which gives our team a different feeling going into half time. I am so proud of the work this team has put in. They have a desire and commitment to grow, and they know the importance of winning in February."
