YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions led from start to finish on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 7), earning a 69–59 Conference Carolinas victory over the Lees-McRae Bobcats at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
Young Harris set the tone early with a 21-point opening quarter and never relinquished the lead, improving to 16–5 overall and 10–3 in Conference Carolinas play. Lees-McRae falls to 15–6 overall and 11–4 in league action.
The Mountain Lions balanced scoring attack and control of the paint proved to be the difference, as Young Harris outscored the Bobcats 42–30 inside and held a 38–28 rebounding advantage.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
• Kamryn Bates led the Mountain Lions with 17 points, adding five rebounds and three assists.
• Chassidy Fedd followed with 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting.
• Annalise Malone contributed 13 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
• Natalie Jojola added 12 points, connecting on two three-pointers and going a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.
• Rhiannon Saller pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds while scoring eight points.
• Young Harris shot 40.7 percent from the field and finished 18-of-24 (75.0 percent) at the free-throw line.
• The Mountain Lions led wire-to-wire and held Lees-McRae without a single tie or lead change.
• Lees-McRae was led by Braelyn Stilwell with 15 points, while Nadiya Hairston added 14.
