YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions dropped a 57–48 Conference Carolinas contest to Shorter on Tuesday evening (Feb. 10) at the Harp Recreation & Commencement Center.
Young Harris falls to 16–6 overall and 10–4 in Conference Carolinas play, while Shorter improves to 13–9 overall and 11–4 in league action.
The two teams battled through eight ties and five lead changes, but a 21-point fourth quarter from Shorter proved decisive as the Hawks closed out the nine-point victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
• Kamryn Bates led the Mountain Lions with 13 points and six rebounds.
• Chassidy Fedd added 12 points and six rebounds.
• Annalise Malone put together an all-around performance with 12 rebounds and nine points, along with five assists.
• Katia Nekic provided six points off the bench, going 3-for-3 at the free-throw line.
• Young Harris shot 28.6 percent from the field and 5-of-23 (21.7 percent) from three-point range.
• The Mountain Lions were outrebounded 34–35 and scored 20 points in the paint.
• Shorter was led by Amiya Redus with 19 points, while Chelsy Singleton added 14.
