YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Baseball team is set to begin postseason play later this week as the No. 2 seed in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Baseball Tournament in Gastonia, North Carolina.Â
The Mountain Lions wrapped up a stellar regular season with a 37-13 overall record and a 22-8 mark in Conference Carolinas play, earning a share of the conference title alongside Francis Marion University. Young Harris received the No. 2 seed due to head-to-head results and will open tournament action on Thursday (May 1) at 3 p.m. against the winner of No. 7 Mount Olive and No. 10 King.Â
Young Harris dominated conference play this season, winning 10 of their 11 series, including notable sweeps over nationally ranked opponents like North Greenville and Mount Olive. The Mountain Lions have been led by a powerful lineup featuring Jeremy Begora, Luke Hatcher, Kade Smallwood, and standout freshman Jonny Smith, while pitchers Zach Hart, Austin Ritchie, and Graham Edwards have anchored a rotation that combined for six shutouts. Senior reliever Brady Caloway has also been a steady force out of the bullpen.Â
With momentum on their side and a deep roster ready to deliver, the Mountain Lions have their sights set on a championship push in Gastonia.Â
