Mountain Lions Roll Past UVA Wise in Home Opener!

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions returned to The Harp for their home opener on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 29) and delivered a dominant performance, defeating UVA Wise 78–62. Player of the Game honors go to Annalise Malone, who powered Young Harris with 25 points and seven rebounds while shooting 8-of-15 from the field and 9-of-10 at the line. 

With the win, Young Harris improves to 4–2 overall and has now won two straight, while UVA Wise falls to 3–2. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Annalise Malone led all scorers with 25 points, adding seven rebounds and a near-perfect 9-of-10 from the stripe. 

  • Kamryn Bates chipped in 15 points, including three three-pointers, and dished out four assists in 37 minutes. 

  • Off the bench, Telma Balague provided a spark with 11 points on 3-of-7 shooting from deep. 

  • Young Harris shot 42.1 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from three, and an impressive 84 percent at the line. 

  • UVA Wise was paced by Madison Looney, who finished with 18 points and nine rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting. 

  • Caroline Mullins came into the game averaging 25 PPG, Young Harris was able to neutralize her all game long. Mullins ended the day with just four points, before fouling out. 

  • The Mountain Lions dominated second-chance opportunities (16–9) and capitalized on turnovers, scoring 22 points off UVA Wise miscues.
