Mountain Lions Dominate SWU On Stocking Slam Night!

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions returned to The Harp for a home Conference Carolinas matchup on Wednesday evening (Dec. 3) and delivered a dominant performance despite an early attack from Southern Wesleyan, winning 90–57. Player of the Game honors go to Kamryn Bates, who powered Young Harris with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and an impressive 5 steals while shooting 7-of-13 from the field. 

With the win, Young Harris improves to 5–2 overall and has now won three straight, while SWU falls to 1–6.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

  • Our Mountain Lions closed the first half with a 22-5 run against the Warriors.  

  • Young Harris forced SWU to 24 turnovers and followed that with 37 points off turnovers.  

  • Foward Annalise Malone led the scoring for the Mountain Lions with 20 points on 7-of-12 shooting and 5-of-6 from the line.  

  • Young Harris shot 52.2 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from three, and 71.4 percent at the line. 

  • SWU was paced by Savanna Nicholson, who finished with 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting. 

  • Young Harris was able to take over the game by going on a 35-8 run spanning the second and third quarters.  

  • The Mountain Lions were able to stop the Warriors' momentum by holding them to 21 second-half points.
