GREENVILLE, S.C. | Young Harris College women's basketball has been picked to finish fifth in the 2025-26 Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll, as announced by the league office Thursday afternoon. Last season, the Mountain Lions went 22-9 overall, winning two playoff games before falling to the Patriots.
Despite the ranking, the Mountain Lions return a talented and experienced roster poised to outperform expectations and make a deep postseason run.
Leading the charge is senior forward Annalise Malone, a dynamic scorer and defender who led the charge for YH last season. Malone's leadership and versatility on both ends of the floor will be key to the Mountain Lions' success this season. Last season, Annalise was the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Player of the Year.
Also returning is senior guard Kamryn Bates, a steady presence in the backcourt known for her court vision. Kamryn's ability to control the tempo and create opportunities makes her a vital piece of the YHC offense.
Newcomer, senior forward Rhiannon Saller is expected to make a big impact this season. Her size and rebounding ability give the Mountain Lions a strong interior presence.
Young Harris will look to build momentum heading into the 2026 Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship, which begins March 2.
The Mountain Lions tip off the season with their annual Purple and White Game on Thursday, November 7 at 5:00 p.m. inside The Harp Recreation and Commencement Center, preceding the men's game. The regular season begins Friday, November 14 versus Georgia College in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
