COLUMBUS, Ga. | Carly Winters broke the school record for three-point field goals in Young Harris College women's basketball school history as the Mountain Lions defeated Columbus State University 68-64 in a Peach Belt Conference game at the Lumpkin Center Wednesday (Feb. 9).

The Mountain Lions improved to 12-11 overall and 4-10 in the Peach Belt, while the Cougars fell to 12-11 and 5-8. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Feb. 12) with a 1:30 p.m. PBC tip against Augusta University at the YHC Recreation and Fitness Center.Â

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:Â
- Winters is the new record holder for three-pointers made in school history (173), passing Keta Robinette (2011-16) who previously held the record. Winters totaled 18 points and eight rebounds, including four threes.
- Niaya White added 12 points and five rebounds for the Mountain Lions and Mackenzie Johnson recorded 12 points and five rebounds.
- Kalen Surles dished out five assists and grabbed seven rebounds.
- Young Harris trailed 34-29 going into the third quarter. The Mountain Lions tied things up at 38 after Winters sank her third three-pointer of the night.Â
- Young Harris had its biggest lead of the night - 10 points - 58-48 after a good White free-throw off the glass with just over six minutes remaining.Â
- Columbus State had four players score double digit points including Chrisalyn Boston who had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.Â
- Young Harris outrebounded Columbus State 49-31 and outscored the Cougars 36-24.
