OXFORD, Ala. | Young Harris College men's cross country runners finished 1-2 at the JSU Foothills Invitational Saturday (Oct. 1) morning.
Tim Asis won his third consecutive race and for the second straight meet
Mathew Biwott finished in a second place. Asis claimed the top spot overall - all divisions - on the 8K course at Oxford Lake with a time of 24:48.0 while Biwott was second overall 4.1 seconds behind Asis with a time of 24:52.1.
As a team, the Mountain Lions came in fourth place in the White Division, which included all non-Division I schools at the meet, Â with 114 points. The University of Montevallo won the White Division with 43 points.
Jeremy Webb finished in 21st place overall in the White Division with a time of 27:27.9 and was followed by
Raul Ramirez (38th, 29:10.2) and
Abraham Asis (52nd, 31:46.7).
Young Harris returns to competition next Saturday (Oct. 8) when they travel to Saint Leo, Florida, to compete in the Saint Leo Invitational. The Abbey Course will be the same course the NCAA Division II National Championship will be run on in late November.
