Quote from Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Matt Logan:
"The lads continue to raise the expectations for our program. I don't think we've run our best yet, but the level of consistency continues to rise. UNCP and SWU ran very well today, and we have a lot of respect for those programs. We will work hard to get fit and healthy over the next two weeks as we look forward to a dog fight at the conference championship meet."

Women's Results (5K Blue Group):

Young Harris placed 11th.

  • Lilian Arnold (Fr.) finished in 55th place with a time of 21:30.51

  • Rylie Cheek (Fr.) finished in 65th place with a time of 21:51.57

  • Caroline Bass (Fr.) finished in 66th place with a time of 21:52.48

  • Caitlyn Thaman (Fr.) finished in 67th place with a time of 21:53.26

Quote from Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Matt Logan:
"It's easy to lose perspective on how far our women's program has come in two years. In 24' or 23', we would have been thrilled with the performance today. We continue to get better and if we can bring a healthy squad to conference, I think we can make it hard on teams. The women are running great, but they want more. We are in a good place."

Up Next:

The Mountain Lions will return to action on Friday, Oct. 24, at the Conference Carolinas Championship in Kernersville, North Carolina.
