WINGATE, N.C. | The Young Harris College men's and women's cross country teams closed out their 2025 season Saturday (Nov. 8) morning at the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Cross Country Championships hosted by Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina.
Men's Results (10K):
Young Harris placed 7th out of 25 teams with a total of 242 points and a top-five average time of 33:52.
The highest ever regional finish in program history caps off a standout season for the Mountain Lions Men's XC Squad, which included a first-place team finish at the Bruins XC Night Classic (Sept. 5), second-place finishes at both the Spartan Classic (Oct. 3) and the Conference Carolinas Championship (Oct. 24). The team showed consistency and depth throughout the fall, establishing itself as a rising force in the Southeast region.

"I think the men's result is reflective of the effort and discipline our group showed this year. To finish 7th in the region is a big day for our program, but our guys are eager to get back to training."
Women's Results (6K):
Young Harris placed 24th with 622 points and a top-five average time of 27:04.
Despite a tough day in the standings, the women's team continued to gain valuable experience and showed promise for future growth. Their season was highlighted by a 6th place finish at the Spartan Classic (Oct. 3), 7th place at the Bruins XC Night Classic (Sept. 7), and a 9th place finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship (Oct. 24).

On the Horizon: The Mountain Lions Indoor Track & Field season awaits, with their opening meet on Sunday (Dec.7) at the JDL Early Bird Invitational in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
