CLEVELAND, TN | The Young Harris College baseball team fell 14-6 on the road at Lee University on Tuesday evening. With the loss, the Mountain Lions move to 31-12 overall on the season.
Lee jumped out early with two runs in the first and one in the second to take control before Young Harris chipped away. The Mountain Lions got on the board in the third on a Drew Bray RBI and added another in the fourth on a sacrifice bunt from Jonny Smith. YHC pulled within one in the fifth inning, scoring twice on an RBI single from Kade Smallwood and a sacrifice fly from Jackson Morgan to make it 5-4.
The Flames responded with a pivotal three-run sixth inning, highlighted by a three-RBI triple from Isaiah French, to extend the lead to 8-4. Young Harris answered in the seventh as Morgan delivered a two-run single to cut the deficit to 8-6, but Lee quickly responded with a solo home run in the bottom half of the inning.
Lee broke the game open in the eighth inning, plating five runs to secure the 14-6 final.
