YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's lacrosse team delivered a dominant Senior Day performance, defeating Virginia State 21-6 on Saturday afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field. The Mountain Lions improve to 11-5 overall.
Young Harris controlled the game from the opening draw, scoring six goals in the first quarter and never looking back. Erika Baalam led the offensive surge early, while Mary Troyer and Riley Parker helped fuel a balanced attack that saw eight different players find the back of the net.
Virginia State scored twice in the second quarter before Young Harris responded with a three-goal run late in the period to take a commanding 12-3 lead into halftime.
The Mountain Lions continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring the Trojans 9-3 over the final two quarters, including a six-goal third period that broke the game open.
Baalam led all scorers with six goals, while Megan Magill added four goals and three assists. Troyer recorded a standout all-around performance with three goals and four assists, and Parker finished with three goals and two assists.

Young Harris outshot Virginia State 35-20 and held a 20-8 advantage in draw controls while also controlling the ground ball battle, 26-19.
