YOUNG HARRIS, GA| Mary Troyer has been named the 2026 Conference Carolinas Spring Scholar Athlete of the Year for Women's Lacrosse. The Scholar-Athlete awards Presented by Hudl are awarded annually to one individual in each Conference Carolinas sponsored sport. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year winners are chosen by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee. To be considered, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher while also being an all-conference selection.

This honor highlights Troyer exemplifying the meaning of being a student athlete. On the field for the Mountain Lions, Mary earned first team all-conference honors and was a force at the midfield position. Troyer started 20 games for YH in 2026, recording 28 goals, 39 assists, 92 draw controls and 47 ground balls to highlight a career year in her senior season. Troyer was able to reach these heights while also showcasing the same level of success in the classroom.

On the season, Troyer helped lead Young Harris to a historical year where the Mountain Lions captured the regular season and tournament Conference Carolinas Championship. With a 15-6 record and conference title, YH earned a birth into the opening round of the D2 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship.
