YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College Women's Lacrosse attacker Erika Baalam has been named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for April after helping lead the Mountain Lions through a dominant close to the regular season and into a conference championship victory. Baalam totaled 17 goals and four assists across six games during the month as Young Harris posted a 5-1 record before going on to capture the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Championship.

Baalam opened the month with one goal and two assists in a win over Belmont Abbey before exploding for back-to-back six-goal performances against Virginia State and Southern Wesleyan. She added an assist against Virginia State and scored the game-winning goal against Southern Wesleyan as the Mountain Lions completed an undefeated conference regular season. In the Conference Carolinas Women's Lacrosse Championship, Baalam continued her strong play with two goals and an assist in a semifinal win over Emmanuel before adding another goal in Young Harris' championship victory over Belmont Abbey.
