YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College baseball team won the Roar War series over Emmanuel this weekend, taking two of three games against the Lions. After dropping Friday night's opener 10-5, the Mountain Lions responded with a 10-7 win in game two and a 15-2 victory in game three on Saturday to claim the series.
Game One: Emmanuel 10, Young Harris 5
Emmanuel used a five-run third inning to take control Friday night and never gave the lead back as the Lions took the opener 10-5.
Young Harris got on the board in the third when Jayden Carbonell-Smith scored on a passed ball, then added a run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Kade Smallwood to trim the deficit to 6-2. Emmanuel answered with two runs in the sixth and added two more in the ninth before the Mountain Lions scored three times in the bottom of the ninth.
Smallwood provided the late spark with a three-run home run in the ninth, finishing with four RBIs in the loss. Carlos Martans scored twice, while Drew Bray, Jack Enrico, Jonny Smith, Keypher Contreras, Carbonell-Smith, and Martans all recorded hits in the opener.

Game Two: Young Harris 10, Emmanuel 7
The Mountain Lions erupted for 10 runs over the first three innings and held off a late Emmanuel push to even the series with a 10-7 victory in Saturday's opener.
Young Harris scored three in the first, three more in the second, and four in the third to build a 10-0 lead. Jack Enrico delivered a two-run single in the first, Kade Smallwood added a two-run single in the second, and Jackson Morgan brought home two more with a double in the third.
Emmanuel responded with a four-run sixth inning before adding three more in the seventh. Cruz Paul entered in the seventh but did not record an out as Emmanuel plated three runs, before Trey Griffin came on to record the final three outs and secure the win.
Barrett Eldridge earned the win after working 6.0 innings with five strikeouts.

Game Three: Young Harris 15, Emmanuel 2
Young Harris broke the rubber match open with a 10-run third inning and rolled to a 15-2 win to secure the Roar War series.
After Emmanuel took a 2-1 lead in the third inning, the Mountain Lions answered by tying the game before erupting for 10 runs in the frame to take an 11-2 lead. Keypher Contreras, Jayden Carbonell-Smith, Drew Bray, Kade Smallwood, Jack Enrico, and Jackson Morgan all contributed during the decisive inning.
The Mountain Lions added four more runs in the eighth, including a two-run home run from Carlos Martans. Young Harris totaled 15 hits in the finale, with five players recording multiple-hit games.
Drew Bray led the way with three hits and two RBIs, finishing the final two games with six hits and four RBIs to earn Player of the Game honors for both contests.
