YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions put together an offensive avalanche over the weekend, sweeping Ferrum in three games by scores of 21-2, 12-3, and 17-6 at Zell B. Miller Field.
Young Harris pounded out 51 hits and scored 50 runs across the series, improving to 18-3 overall. The Mountain Lions jumped on Ferrum early in all three games and never let up, homering 12 times over the weekend while continuing their torrid stretch at the plate.
Game One: Young Harris 21, Ferrum 2
The Mountain Lions wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for nine runs in the first inning and never looking back in a dominant Friday opener.
Jackson Morgan launched two home runs and drove in six, while Kade Smallwood also drove in six and homered as part of a three-hit day. Kyle Chatham added two home runs and four RBIÂ as Young Harris piled up 22 hits in the rout.
Austin Ritchie earned the win, tossing five scoreless innings and allowing just three hits.

Game Two: Young Harris 12, Ferrum 3
Young Harris kept the bats rolling in game two, building a 5-0 lead through two innings before breaking things open with a five-run fifth.
Jeo Hernandez sparked the offense with a two-run homer in the first and finished with four RBIs. Kade Smallwood added a home run and two RBIs, while Carlos Martans drove in two more as the Mountain Lions secured the sweep of Friday's doubleheader.
Barrett Eldridge improved to 3-0 with 2.2 scoreless innings to open the game.

The Mountain Lions capped the weekend with another power-packed performance, scoring in six different innings and finishing the series finale with 17 hits.
Jonny Smith and Keypher Contreras both homered in the second inning, and Kade Smallwood added another blast in the third before Jackson Morgan's three-run homer highlighted a six-run fifth. Young Harris led 17-3 entering the ninth and cruised to the series-clinching win.
Cole Molina earned the victory, allowing no runs over four innings while striking out four.
