SPARTANBURG, S.C. | The Young Harris College women's lacrosse team continued its dominant run through Conference Carolinas play on Saturday, defeating Converse 12-10 on the road at Weisiger Stadium.
With the win, the Mountain Lions improve to 8-3 overall and a perfect 6-0 in conference action.
In a tightly contested battle from the opening draw, Young Harris matched Converse early, ending the first quarter tied 4-4. The Mountain Lions gained slight control before halftime, using a 3-3 second quarter to take a 7-7 tie into the break.
Young Harris created separation in the third quarter, outscoring Converse 2-1 behind goals from Camden Maday and Kailey Hanks to take a 9-8 lead into the final period. The Mountain Lions then delivered in the fourth, scoring three times, including two key goals from Riley Parker and Erika Baalam, to secure the 12-10 victory.
Parker led the way with a dominant performance, scoring five goals and adding an assist for six total points (Player of the Game).
Defensively, McKenna Graf anchored the Mountain Lions with a standout performance in goal, recording 16 saves to help hold off a Converse offense that tallied 33 shots.
