MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. | The Young Harris College men's tennis team came up just short on the road Saturday morning, falling 4-3 to Mount Olive in a tightly contested match.
The Mountain Lions opened strong by securing the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Guillem Busquets Brau and Greyson Williams edged a 7-6 victory at the top spot, while Nills Vercruyssen and Noah Pawirodirjo followed with a 6-4 win at No. 2.
In singles play, Young Harris picked up two victories. Greyson Williams battled through a three-set thriller at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6, while Noah Torrealba Auerbach earned a straight-set win at No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-4.
Mount Olive secured the team win with victories at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles. Both Noah Pawirodirjo and Samuel Guzon pushed their matches to three sets at the top two positions, but the Trojans were able to close them out in tight finishes.
