MT. PLEASANT, S.C. | The Young Harris College women's golf team opened the spring portion of its schedule at the LR/Dunes West Women's Collegiate, hosted at Dunes West Golf and River Club on Monday (Feb. 23) and Tuesday (Feb. 24). Competing in a strong field, the Mountain Lions finished 16th out of 17 teams with a three-round total of +172. Lincoln Memorial took home first place with a total of +51.

Young Harris posted rounds of +59 in round one, +68 in round two, and showed improvement in the final round with a team-best +45.

"Some of the toughest conditions I've seen at a college golf tournament between the cold temperatures and wind. We made a lot of silly mistakes and big numbers, and need to do a better job of hitting shots with positive intentions. We'll work on that over our next few weeks off."

Individual Performances:

• Avery Cauwels: +16, +9, +8 | Tournament Total: +33
• Cauwels led the Mountain Lions with the lowest tournament total, finishing 60th overall. After opening with a +16, she improved in each of the final two rounds, including Young Harris' lowest round of the event (+8) in round three.
• Lucy Wiegert: +12, +13, +10 | Tournament Total: +35
• Wiegert finished 66th overall, posting consistent scores across all three rounds and closing with her best round of the tournament (+10).
• Tamara Brito: +14, +19, +13 | Tournament Total: +46
• Brito finished tied for 77th, contributing steady scores throughout the event and closing with a +13 in the final round.
• Anna Moore: +17, +27, +14 | Tournament Total: +58
• Moore placed 85th overall and responded with a strong final round, improving by 13 strokes from round two.
• Abbie Arthur: +17, +30, +20 | Tournament Total: +67
• Arthur finished 89th overall.
