JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. | The Young Harris College women's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Agnes McAmis Memorial (72 par), hosted by Tusculum University, finishing fourth overall with a two-round score of 623 (314-309).
The Mountain Lions improved in round two, trimming five strokes off their opening round score to post a 309. Young Harris placed four golfers inside the top 20 and all five competitors finished inside the top 25 in a competitive field.
Lucy Wiegert led the way for the Mountain Lions, tying for 13th overall with a two-round total of 155 (+11). After opening with an 81, Wiegert bounced back with a strong 74 in the second round.
Avery Cauwels followed closely behind in 15th place with a score of 157 (+13), posting rounds of 78 and 79.
Anna Moore and Tamara Brito both tied for 17th overall at 158 (+14). Moore carded rounds of 82 and 76, while Brito finished with rounds of 78 and 80.
Abbie Arthur rounded out the Young Harris lineup with a 23rd-place finish after posting a 161 (+17), including rounds of 77 and 84.
