YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Conference Carolinas has released its 2025–26 spring men's tennis preseason poll, with Young Harris College selected to finish tied for sixth in the league standings. Belmont Abbey College was tabbed as the preseason favorite to finish first.

The Mountain Lions enter the spring season looking to build on their Conference Carolinas Tournament performance from a year ago, while returning a core group of experienced contributors under the direction of Director of Men's and Women's Tennis Marcy O'Connor

INSIDE THE POLL:

Young Harris concluded the 2025 spring season with a 7–16 overall record and a 4–5 mark in Conference Carolinas play. The Mountain Lions showed the ability to compete within the league, highlighted by conference victories over Converse University, Chowan University, North Greenville University, and Shorter University.

Conference play opened with a 5–2 win over Converse on Feb. 27, before YHC earned a decisive 7–0 road victory at Chowan on March 15. Later in the season, the Mountain Lions picked up a 4–3 win over North Greenville on March 21 and closed the regular season with a 6–1 Senior Day victory against Shorter on April 16.

Young Harris advanced to the Conference Carolinas Tournament, where the Mountain Lions opened with a 4–0 victory over Emmanuel (pre-Roar War), before falling to Francis Marion in the following round.

Those results, combined with returning experience throughout the lineup, contributed to Young Harris being slotted in a tie for sixth entering the 2025–26 spring campaign.

PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Young Harris returns key student-athletes who have proven themselves at the conference level.

Noah Pawirodirjo, a sophomore from the Netherlands, earned Conference Carolinas All-Conference Third Team honors in 2025 and brings consistency across singles and doubles play.

Senior Guillem Busquets Brau, from Sabadell, Spain, provides veteran leadership and experience as the Mountain Lions navigate the conference schedule.

Samuel Guzon, a sophomore from Dubnica nad Váhom, Slovakia, adds great competitiveness to the lineup heading into the spring season.

LOOKING AHEAD:

With a tied-sixth preseason projection and multiple returning contributors, the Mountain Lions will look to convert close matches into wins as they prepare for the Conference Carolinas Championship later in the spring.
