YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions Men's Tennis team earned a strong 5-2 victory over Emmanuel University on Wednesday afternoon at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
Prior to the match, the Mountain Lions recognized seniors Greyson Williams, Guillem Busquets Brau, and Mason Harmon, along with assistant coach Holden Hall and manager Cole Santos for their contributions to the program.
Emmanuel claimed the doubles point, taking wins at No. 1 and No. 2, while Young Harris picked up a 7-4 victory at No. 3 doubles from Mason Harmon and Nills Vercruyssen.
Young Harris responded in singles play with five wins to secure the team victory. At the top spot, Noah Pawirodirjo delivered a key straight-set win, defeating James Girdler 7-5, 6-2.
Samuel Guzon followed with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles, while Mason Harmon battled to a three-set win at No. 4, taking the match 3-6, 6-4, 10-6.
Greyson Williams added a dominant 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles, and Nills Vercruyssen closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 6.
With the win, the Mountain Lions improve to 9-9 overall on the season.
