YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's basketball team capped off a historic 2024-25 season with national academic recognition, earning the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the fourth consecutive year. The award honors programs that finish the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Mountain Lions also placed a program-record 11 student-athletes on the NABC Honors Court, tying for the most selections in NCAA Division II with Lynn University. The Honors Court recognizes junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

"To have the most players make the NABC Honors Court in all of Division II is an incredible honor for our entire program," said Head Coach Jeremy Currier. "I am so proud of our student-athletes, their focus and discipline in the classroom has led to the highest grade point average in program history and a great graduation rate. We take great pride in academic excellence at Young Harris College, and I am thankful our players have taken their academic responsibility seriously."

The academic success capped a banner year for the program, which posted a program-best 21 wins, including a 20-win regular season. Among the standout performers was Carl Cleveland, who was named the 2024-25 Conference Carolinas Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned a spot on the Conference Carolinas All-Conference First Team.

The NABC recognized over 2,400 student-athletes and nearly 400 programs across all levels of men's college basketball for academic excellence in 2024-25. Young Harris College continues to strive for excellence in the classroom and on gamedays.
