Rome, Ga. | In the 2025 regular season finale, Young Harris took down the Shorter University Hawks with a final score of 21-7 (Apr 15
th). Five Mountain Lions recorded hat tricks, in addition to
Addison Heiser leading the squad with six goals of her own. It wasn't only the offense that was impressive, the goalkeeping unit for YH shut out the Hawks in the second half and picked up a collective nine saves on the evening.
The Mountain Lions finish the 2025 regular season with a 10-6 overall and 6-2 Conference Carolinas record. The Hawks conclude with a 4-10 overall and 2-6 Conference Carolinas record.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· After starting the game down 0-1, Young Harris scored six unanswered goals to end the first quarter.
Addison Heiser registered a hat trick in these 15 minutes, in addition to goals from
Ashlyn Fraley,
Riley Parker, and
Mary Troyer.
· The second quarter consisted of seven goals from the Mountain Lions;
Ashlyn Fraley,
Sydney Craig (2),
Addison Heiser (2), and
Riley Parker (2) found the back of the net. In this time, Shorter's offense scored six times. YH led 13-7 heading into the half.
· The quietest 15 minutes for Young Harris came right out of the half, as Fraley and Craig picked up a goal apiece.
· The defensive unit of
Abbie Gallagher and
McKenna Graf shut out the Hawks in the second half. Gallagher was granted the win after seven saves.
· Six goals were scored in the final 15 from YH.
Niah Anderson came out firing with a hat trick just in this quarter. Additionally,
Mary Troyer (2) and
Addison Heiser found the back of the net.
· The Mountain Lions took an astounding 45 shots to the Hawks' 18.
· Shorter turned the ball over 25 times, with Young Harris committing 16.
· YH led in draw controls as well, 20-11.
UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions have officially wrapped up the 2025 regular season and will await final seeding for the Conference Carolinas tournament, which is set to begin on April 22
