Florence, S.C. | Young Harris College men's tennis came up just short in a competitive road match Saturday morning (Apr. 12), falling 4-3 to Francis Marion University.Â
The Mountain Lions captured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. The duo of Greyson Williams and Gregor Gottein picked up a convincing 6-2 win, while Samuel Guzon and Nills Vercruyssen added a 6-3 victory to clinch the early advantage.Â
In singles action, Young Harris continued to battle, with Williams grinding out a three-set win at No. 3 singles and Guzon prevailing in a three-set thriller on court four. However, the Patriots responded with strong performances on the remaining courts to edge the Mountain Lions.Â
Young Harris moves to 5-15 overall and 3-5 in Conference Carolinas play, while Francis Marion improves to 10-6 overall and 6-2 in the league.Â
