YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Congratulations to Parehuia Delamere (All-Conference Defensive Team) and Annalise Malone (All-Conference First Team) on earning prestigious honors.
Senior guard Parehuia Delamere has been stellar defensively all season long for the Mountain Lions Women's Basketball Program. Delamere led YH in rebounds (251), steals (61), and blocks (12). In Conference Carolinas, P. ranks second in rebounds and T-2nd in steals. Parehuia also led Young Harris with 129 assists (4th in conference), while coming in first with an assist/turnover ratio of 1.9 this season. The Mountain Lions finished the regular season ranked second in total offense and fourth in defensive production, with Delamere being a major factor all season long.
Annalise Malone of Young Harris College has been named the Conference Carolinas Player of the Year, making history as the first Mountain Lion to receive this prestigious honor. Malone has been a dominant force throughout the season, leading Conference Carolinas in total points (491), points per game (16.9), and free throws made (133). She also ranks second in the conference with 165 free throw attempts and is fourth with an 80.6 free throw percentage. Nationally, her 133 made free throws place her 15th in NCAA Division II.
Beyond her scoring ability, Malone has been a well-rounded contributor, averaging 6.4 rebounds per game while shooting 42.1 percent from the field. Her outstanding performance this season also earned her a spot on the Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball First Team All-Conference.
