Mountain Lions Take Down UMO in Dominating Fashion to Start Series

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Mountain Lions start off this weekend's series with a 19-5 win over the University of Mount Olive Trojans. Jeremy Begora, who was later named player of the game, homered to left field, putting the mountain lions up 2-0 early in the bottom of the second inning.  

The Mountain Lions advanced to 22-9 overall, and 11-5 in Conference Carolinas. The Trojans moved to 20-11overall and 11-5 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will return to Zell B. Miller field tomorrow for games two and three of the series (March 29th). The first pitches of the double header are set for 1pm and 4pm.  

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • Jermey Begora put Young Harris on the board by hitting a home run to left field, scoring along with Drew Bray, putting the Mountain Lions up 2-0 at the bottom of the second inning 

  • Luke Hatcher added onto the score, earning a homer to right field in the second inning making it 6-2 Mountain Lions 

  • Bergora earned his second home run of the night, making the score 8-2.  

UP NEXT:

YH will battle UMO on Saturday (Mar. 29) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field to close out the series.
