YOUNG HARRIS, GA | On a sunny and fun Education Day in the Enchanted Valley, the Mountain Lions surpassed the Southern Wesleyan Warriors 9-7 in a midday match up (Mar 26
th). Young Harris made a statement after a seven-run second inning that consisted of five straight Mountain Lion hits.
 
The Mountain Lions advance to 21-9 overall and remain 10-5 in Conference Carolinas. The Warriors are 7-25 overall and remain 6-12 in Conference Carolinas. *Although SWU is a Conference Carolinas opponent, this midweek game was scheduled as non-conference. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
	- In the first, the Warriors didn't hesitate getting runners on base. Two RBIs from Cam Mitchem and Jack Dennison gave SWU an early 2-0 lead. 
 
	- The Mountain Lions had a big second inning. Five straight knocks from Chase Jackson, Drew Bray, Jeremy Begora, Luke Hatcher, and Kade Smallwood put YH up 6-2. Then, Mark Castle drove in the final run of the inning after an RBI single through the left side. 
 
	- In the fourth, Kade Smallwood hit a sacrifice fly to bring home Luke Hatcher.
 
	- Jonny Smith made contact at the plate in the sixth for a Young Harris run. He singled to left field to advance a runner to third and home. 
 
	- Southern Wesleyan slowly closed the gap in the score in the seventh. A Mountain Lion error and a Cam Mitchem RBI single made the score 9-5.
 
	- Lastly, SWU's Griffin Pickhardt and Nolan Evatt gave it all they had in the eighth, but it wasn't enough. Each had an RBI single for two more Warrior runs. 
 
	- Jeremy Begora finished the day 3-5 at the plate with two runs and two RBIs. Luke Hatcher was also one to keep an eye on; he finished 2-4 with an RBI.
 
	- Jacob Autry was awarded the win after two innings pitched. Ryan Cross picked up the save, his second of the season. 
 
 
UP NEXT: The Mountain Lions will host a huge regional match up this weekend against Conference Carolinas foe, the #19 University of Mount Olive (Mar 28
th-29
th). First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 6PM, and 1PM/4PM on Saturday.
