YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's tennis team put up a strong fight but fell just short in a 4-3 battle against the University of Montevallo at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Mountain Lions (4-10) showcased resilience throughout the match, claiming key victories in both singles and doubles play.
Match Recap:
- Young Harris got off to a strong start in doubles action, with the No. 2 pairing of Mason Harmon and Samuel Guzon delivering a thrilling victory ( 7-6) to secure the win on their court. The No. 3 duo of Nills Vercruyssen and Greyson Williams also battled hard before ultimately falling (6-7).
- In singles play, Mason Harmon dominated his matchup at the No. 2 spot, cruising to a flawless 6-0, 6-0 victory. Samuel Guzon delivered an incredible comeback at No. 4, grinding out a 7-5, 7-6 win in a thrilling tiebreaker. Gregor Gottein also picked up a victory at No. 5, battling through a back-and-forth contest to secure a 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 triumph.
- Despite their strong performances, the Mountain Lions came up just short as Montevallo took the deciding points in other singles matchups.
