SPARTANBURG, S.C. | The Young Harris College women's golf team turned in an impressive showing at the Converse Spring Invitational, finishing fourth at the Carolina Country Club. The Mountain Lions demonstrated consistency across both rounds, improving upon their previous tournament performance.

"Definitely a small team improvement from last week. Solid golf again from Lucy Wiegert, and it was only two holes away from being exceptional, which is a great sign. We will have a few days of spring break practice before we travel again." 

Individual Performances: 

T3 – Lucy Wiegert | 80 (+8), 78 (+6) | Tournament Total: 158 (+14) 

Wiegert continued her stellar play, leading the Mountain Lions with a top-three finish. She shaved two strokes off her first-round score, closing with a steady 78 that featured key pars down the stretch. 

10 – Tamara Brito | 83 (+11), 82 (+10) | Tournament Total: 165 (+21) 

Brito showed consistency throughout the event, improving in the final round. Her solid ball-striking kept her inside the top 10, helping Young Harris post one of its best team scores of the season. 

T15 – Connor Johnson | 87 (+15), 84 (+12) | Tournament Total: 171 (+27) 

Johnson stepped up in round two, trimming three strokes off her opening round. Her improved short game was key in securing a top-15 individual finish. 

T23 – Abbie Arthur | 89 (+17), 94 (+22) | Tournament Total: 183 (+39) 

Her first-round 89 was highlighted by strong iron play. 

T25 – Abby Adams | 92 (+20), 95 (+23) | Tournament Total: 187 (+43) 

Adams stayed composed throughout both rounds, while helping Young Harris secure a fourth-place team finish. 

Final Team Results:

4th Place – Young Harris ( +101)

• Round 2: +50

The Mountain Lions continued their upward trend, finishing inside the top five and showing improvement. With Wiegert securing another top-five finish and the team displaying steady play, Young Harris looks to carry this momentum into the Agnes McAmis Memorial in Greeneville, Tennessee (Mar. 17-18).
