HARROGATE, TN & WISE, VA | The Mountain Lions men's tennis team battled through three matches this past weekend (Feb. 8-9), facing tough competition before closing out with a strong victory over UVA Wise. 

Young Harris now sits at 1-3 overall in the early stages of the season. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

MATCH ONE:

The Mountain Lions fell to Lincoln Memorial University, 4-1. 

• The Rail-splitters secured the doubles point. 

• Noah Pawirodirjo was the lone singles winner for the Mountain Lions, taking down his opponent (6-2, 6-7, & 6-4). 

MATCH TWO: 

Young Harris came up short against Carson-Newman University, 4-1. 

• The Mountain Lions earned their point through doubles, with the pairings of Pawirodirjo & McCurry and Harmon & Gregor Gottein earning the point. 

MATCH THREE: 

The Mountain Lions dominated UVA Wise, winning 5-2. 

• The duos of McCurry & Pawirodirjo and Williams & Rowan secured the doubles point for Young Harris. 

• Pawirodirjo (6-2, 4-6, & 11-9), Caleb McCurry (6-3, 4-6, & 10-8), Mason Harmon (7-6 & 7-5), and Nills Vercruyssen (7-6 & 7-5) all won their singles matches to clinch the victory.
