YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College baseball team played their first home game of the season on Friday (Feb. 7) evening at Zell B. Miller Field. Lenoir-Rhyne took the game with a final score of 14-8; YH went down 11-0 to start the game, but the Mountain Lions stormed back to get back within six runs with a few innings left to play. 

Young Harris College moves to 3-1 overall, while the Bears improve to 5-1 overall. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:  

• Kade Smallwood went 3-5 at the plate, driving in four runs, two via the long ball. 

• Kyle Chatham knocked in three runs for YH on one swing of the bat. 

• Mackenzie Wainright and Sal Carricato both recorded three RBI for LR. 

• The Bears recorded 16 hits, while the Mountain Lions picked up nine hits. 

• William Girardi picked up the win for Lenoir-Rhyne, pitching five innings for LR. 

• The Mountain Lions used five pitchers in the game.

The Mountain Lions will return to action tomorrow afternoon, as they play Columbus State at noon, and Lenoir-Rhyne once more at 4 PM.
