YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College forward Scarlett Hirschy has made an immediate impact in her debut season, earning Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year honors and a spot on the All-Conference First Team. The first-year standout led the league in both goals (13) and shots on goal (35), showcasing her scoring prowess and relentless attacking presence. Her 28 total points ranked third in the conference, while her three game-winning goals tied for third-most among all players. Nationally, Hirschy's 0.81 goals per game placed her 10th in NCAA Division II, and her total goals ranked eighth overall.
Hirschy's consistency and flair for the dramatic were on full display throughout the season. She appeared in all 17 matches, starting 10, and delivered four multi-goal performances, including a sensational hat trick on October 1 against Emmanuel. Her 61 total shots demonstrated her aggressive offensive mindset, while her 35 shots on target highlighted her precision in front of goal. With a remarkable freshman campaign now in the books, Hirschy has firmly established herself as one of the top young talents in the conference and a cornerstone for the future of the Mountain Lions' program as their playoff push continues.
Head coach Avram Allens says, "Scarlett has really hit the ground running. She has proven to be a consistent threat as an attacker all season. Her ability to put the ball in the back of the net is something special. Scarlett being recognized as freshman of the year is well deserved."
