YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College freshman Aidan Vrazel has been named the Conference Carolinas Men's Cross Country Freshman of the Month after a stellar start to his 2025 campaign. Vrazel opened the season with a standout performance at the Bruins XC Invitational hosted by Bob Jones University, finishing second overall with a time of 19:34.1 and leading the Mountain Lions to their first-ever team victory in program history. Young Harris placed first out of 12 teams with a total time of 1:39:46 and an average of 19:57 per runner, marking a historic milestone for the program.
Vrazel continued his strong form at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama, hosted by Jacksonville State University. Facing one of the deepest fields in the Southeast, he led the Mountain Lions again with a time of 26:11.4 in the 8K, placing 229th overall and helping Young Harris set a new program record for their fastest five-man average. His consistent leadership and competitive edge earned him Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week, Mountain Lion of the Week honors, and now Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month; as the team continues to build momentum in the 2025 season.
