GREENSBORO, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's golf team competed at the Newberry Women's Invitational on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 13–14), finishing fourth overall in a competitive 10-team field. Coker took home first place.

QUOTE FROM DIRECTOR OF GOLF JOHN LICHTENWALNER:
"Great week for us in terms of our overall golf development. Even though round one was erased, we learned a lot on the 36 hole day, and we held it together during the final round to shoot the third lowest score of the day. The golf course was very difficult this week, and that made it clear where we need to improve. We have four months off now, and some of us will be targeting short game technique while others rehab their physical ailments so we can be fully healthy in the spring."

INSIDE THE SCORECARD: 

• Lucy Wiegert led the Mountain Lions with a T7 finish, posting rounds of +8 and +5 to end the tournament at +13. 

• Avery Cauwels followed closely with a T11 performance, carding rounds of +8 and +7 for a +15 total. 

• Anna Moore and Tamara Brito both finished T27 at +26. Moore posted rounds of +15 and +11, while Brito recorded scores of +14 and +12. 

• Competing as an individual, Abbie Arthur placed T45 at +37 with rounds of +19 and +18. 

• Cameron Kimsey rounded out the team scoring with a 49th-place finish, shooting +18 and +20 for a +38 total.

The Mountain Lions have concluded their fall season and will return to action in late February for the start of the spring campaign.
