Mountain Lions Top Blue Bears to Extend Home Winning Streak

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Mountain Lions extended their winning streak at The Harp to seven games with an 82-74 non-conference victory over the Livingstone College Blue Bears on Saturday (Jan. 4) afternoon.

Kamryn Bates spearheaded the offensive effort for the Mountain Lions, contributing a team-high 18 points and six assists. The win moves Young Harris to a 9-4 overall record as they continue to build momentum in their season. YHC remains undefeated at home this season.

QUOTE FROM HEAD COACH LINDSEY HUFFMAN:
"I'm really proud of how our team gutted out that win. It's always a challenge to get back into playing really good team basketball after a long break. I thought we did some really good things today and multiple players stepped up when it was most needed. Parehuia Delamere did a phenomenal job on the glass- 15 rebounds is huge but some of those rebounds came during crucial defensive possessions when the game was on the line. We have a few things we have to clean up before conference play on Wednesday but I'm really happy our team was able to grind out a win today."

  • Kamryn Bates led the Mountain Lions with 18 points, five rebounds, and six assists.
