Mountain Lions Serve Big Goals for 2025 Tennis Season

GREENVILLE, S.C. | The Young Harris College men's and women's tennis teams are ready to serve up another exciting season as both squads aim to make deep runs in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Tournament. The men's team is coming off a stellar 2024 campaign, while the women's team looks to build on their impressive postseason finish.

Men's Tennis:

The Mountain Lions men's tennis team enters the season ranked third in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll. Following their 2024 regular season championship and an appearance in the tournament's opening round, the team is focused on elevating their performance and making a stronger showing in postseason play this year. 

Players to Watch:

  • Noah Pawirodirjo | FR | The Netherlands 
    A rising talent, Pawirodirjo earned Mountain Lion of the Week honors for his outstanding early performances and is expected to make a big impact in his debut season. 

  • Caleb McCurry | SR | Rome, Georgia 
    McCurry enters his senior year with an impressive resume, including being named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, earning Second Team All-Conference honors, and receiving Mountain Lion of the Week recognition. 

  • Greyson Williams | SO | Miramar, Florida 
    Williams returns for his sophomore season, bringing experience and determination to help the team achieve their championship aspirations. 

Women's Tennis:

The Young Harris women's tennis team is ranked fifth in the 2025 Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll. After reaching the semifinals of last year's conference tournament, the Mountain Lions are poised to make another strong run this season with a talented and determined roster. 

Players to Watch:

  • Simone Mercier | JR | Saint-Roch-Quest, Quebec, Canada 
    A standout junior, Mercier earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team and has previously been recognized as Mountain Lion of the Week for her contributions on the court. 

  • Futaba Saito | SO | Chita, Japan 
    Saito is back for her sophomore campaign, looking to build on a strong first season and help lead the Mountain Lions deep into the postseason. 

  • Viviana Gomez | SO | Guadalajara, Mexico 
    Ranked 14th in Singles for the Southeast Region in 2023, Gomez has also been named Mountain Lion of the Week and will be a key player to watch this year. 

With both teams boasting a mix of experienced upperclassmen and promising newcomers, the Mountain Lions are set to make their mark in the 2025 Conference Carolinas season. Stay tuned for more updates as the season unfolds!
