GREENVILLE, S.C. | Young Harris Tennis Head Coach Marcy O'Connor was named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Coach of the Year on Thursday. O'Connor earned the first ever Coach of the Year award in Tennis Program history. During her opening season as the Head Coach, Marcy O'Connor led the men to their first Conference Carolinas regular season Championship.

O'Connor guided Young Harris men's tennis to a 12-6 overall record and a perfect 8-0 Conference Carolinas record.

"Coach Marcy came in late in the fall after the season and helped keep our heads on straight. She took what she had and kept us disciplined every practice and match." said Caleb McCurry

"Her tenacity brought us new life after every single match, as well as giving every singles player confidence throughout the season. She has helped us get this far and deserves all the respect."

Senior Eric DelValle expressed similar appreciation for Coach Marcy's energy and hard work.

"Coach Marcy Came in this year with great energy and a clear plan for us to succeed. She has devoted countless hours to help us prepare for our tough conference matches. I am so happy we could deliver by going undefeated in conference and being crowned regular season champions."

The Mountain Lions earned the number one seed for the Conference Carolinas tournament and will play in the Semifinals on Saturday April 27^th at 9:00 a.m.
