CENTRAL, SC. | The Mountain Lions take the series sweep this afternoon (April 13th) in a conference doubleheader with Southern Wesleyan University. The Mountain Lions displayed their offensive firepower, scoring thirty-three runs across two games to complete the sweep.

The Mountain Lions move to 31-9 overall and are 18-6 in Conference Carolinas. The Warriors move to 6-37 overall and are 4-20 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will return to action Tuesday (April 16th) at Zell B. Miller field for a midweek matchup with Carson Newman University.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Game One (7 Innings):
- Young Harris tops Southern Wesleyan 13-3.
- Southern Wesleyan scored two in the first inning, plating one on a passed ball and another on a Jarrett Whitley sacrifice fly.
- James Basham gave Young Harris the lead in the second inning on a three RBI double to score Marco Colina, Jack Enrico and Ethan Stamps.
- Ethan Stamps launched a two-run home run in the third to score Steven Spell and give YHC a 5-2 lead.
- Marco Colina stretched the lead to 6-2 on an RBI single to score Jack Enrico.
- Kade Smallwood added on with an RBI double to score Marco Colina before reaching home on a James Basham single to make the lead 8-2 in the third inning.
- Drew Bray scored on a passed ball in the fourth inning to make the score 9-2.
- Jeremy Begora blasted a three-run home run, scoring Jarrett Ford and Drew Bray to give the Mountain Lions a 12-2 lead in the sixth inning.
- Drew Bray scored on an Ethan Stamps walk to make it 13-2 in the seventh inning.
- Southern Wesleyan added another run on a Cam Mitchem single to make the score 13-3.
- Dylan Beck got the start and the win, going five innings, striking out four and only allowing 3 hits on the day.
- Ryan Heishman finished the game for the Mountain Lions, going two innings and striking out three.
Game Two (9 Innings)
- Young Harris takes down Southern Wesleyan 20-8.Â
- The Mountain Lions got the scoring started early with Drew Bray scoring on an error and Steven Spell scoring on a Jack Enrico single to take an early 2-0 lead.
- Kade Smallwood added on in a big way with a first inning grand slam to score Jack Enrico, Ethan Stamps and Jeremy Begora to make the lead 6-0.Â
- Drew Bray belted a solo home run in the second inning, giving YHC a 7-0 lead.
- Southern Wesleyan cut the deficit to 7-2 in the second with a Gage Shaver two RBI single.
- Begora scored on an error to give the Mountain Lions a 8-2 lead in the fourth.
- A Blayze Haddock solo home run cut the lead to 8-3 for Southern Wesleyan.
- Two sacrifice flies later in the fourth inning cut the deficit to 8-5 by the end of the inning.
- Steven Spell scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning to make the score 9-5.
- A Cam Mitchem single for Southern Wesleyan made the score 9-6.
- Jace Wilson used an RBI single to score Kade Smallwood and give Young Harris a 10-6 lead in the eighth inning.
- Mitchem launched a two-run home run, which made the score 10-8 in the bottom half of the eighth inning.
- Ethan Stamps scored Steven Spell on a double to make the lead 11-8.
- Jack Enrico added on with a two RBI double to score Ethan Stamps and Jeremy Begora.
- Kade Smallwood used an RBI single to bring Jack Enrico home and make the score 14-8.
- Jarrett Ford smacked a two-run homer in the ninth inning, scoring Dallas Deas and giving the Mountain Lions a 16-8 lead.
- Begora singled to score Drew Bray and Steven Spell before later reaching home on a wild pitch to make the score 19-8.
- Mark Castle drove in the final run of the day, scoring Ethan Stamps on an RBI single to give Young Harris a 20-8 lead.
- Zack Hart got the win for the Mountain Lions, going five innings and striking out four.
- Ryan Cross gave Young Harris four solid innings of work, striking out six batters.
