Young Harris, GA| The Mountain Lions took on the 7-2 Emmanuel University Lions on Saturday (Mar. 9) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field in Young Harris. The Mountain Lions dominated the Lions from the mid part of the first quarter and into the second half, outscoring Emmanuel 10-3 in the second quarter. YHC went ahead by 11 goals late in the first half to force a running clock; after the halftime break, Emmanuel fought back some, and ended the running clock to get within seven goals in the third period. YHC held off Emmanuel in the fourth period, to claim a 21-15 victory over the Lions. Ella Hancock recorded her 100th goal of her career and is now seventh all time in goals scored by a women's lacrosse player in Mountain Lions history.
Young Harris improved to 3-5 overall and picked up their first Conference Carolinas win of the season to move to 1-1 in conference play. Emmanuel University dropped to 7-3 overall this season and 1-3 in Conference Carolinas matchups. YHC returns to play on Tuesday (Mar. 19) at 4 p.m. in Young Harris, where they take on Fort Lewis College.

Ashlyn Fraley led the Mountain Lions with four goals on nine shots.

Ally Cattoni was the leading scorer overall for YHC with three goals and three assists.

Ella Hancock and Belle Hardwick each had five points, with the former scoring three goals with two assists, and the latter scoring two goals with three assists.

Paige Murphy was dominant per usual for Emmanuel, scoring six goals and adding an assist.

YHC used three goalies in Abbie Gallagher, Alyssa Rosenfeld, and McKenna Graf. Gallagher recorded three saves and gave up seven goals, Rosenfeld two saves and four goals, and Graf saved two SOG and surrendered four goals.

The Mountain Lions outshot the Lions 44 to 28, with a 32-22 advantage in shots on goal.
