YOUNG HARRIS, GA| The Mountain Lions were able to find the back of the net quite a bit in this afternoon's 23-11 victory over the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks (Mar 19th). Ashlyn Fraley finished with a personal season-high of seven goals.
The Mountain Lions move to 4-5 overall and are 1-1 in Conference Carolinas. The Skyhawks move to 0-3 overall. YHC will head to Lee University to take on the Flames this Thursday (Mar 21st) at 5PM.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Ella Hancock broke the school record with 229 draw controls in her career thus far.
- Belle Hardwick earned her 100th career point in the victory.
- The game was within reach for the Skyhawks heading into the half, as the score was 11-7 in favor of Young Harris.
- The Skyhawks were able to capitalize on free position shots and score some early goals in the first half.
- However, the Mountain Lions stretched the lead in the third quarter. They scored 10 goals to FLC's two.
- Ashlyn Fraley (7), Belle Hardwick (4), Ally Cattoni (4), Emily Flynt (3), Ella Hancock (2), Mary Troyer (1), Ruthie Mandell (1), and Jess Sujishi (1) were the YHC goal-scorers.
- Young Harris took 49 shots to Fort Lewis' 21.
- The Mountain Lions seemed to maintain possession of the ball from the draw. They recorded 24 draw controls to the Skyhawks' 13.
