TIGERVILLE, SC| The hitting struggles continued through the weekend for the Mountain Lions; unfortunately, they fell short in the final two games of the series to North Greenville (Mar 30th).
The Mountain Lions move to 25-9 overall and are 12-6 in Conference Carolinas. The Crusaders move to 26-7 overall and are 14-4 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will head to Tusculum University this Wednesday (Apr 3rd). First pitch is scheduled for 4PM.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Game 1:
· Young Harris lost game one with a final score of 1-8.
· Brett Blomquist hit a SAC fly in the second to put North Greenville up to an early 1-0 lead.
· Bryce Roddey singled to right field for an RBI in the fourth inning.
· Jace Wilson (1-2) put the game within one after he hit a solo HR to right field in the fifth. YHC trailed 1-2.
· The remainder of the game was working in favor of the Crusaders. In the bottom of the fifth, NGU tacked on four runs on three hits. In the sixth, Dakota Britt and Kaleb Hall added on two more.
Game 2:
· YHC lost game two with a final score of 3-9.
· Drew Bray's (2-4) advancement on a wild pitch and Marco Colina's SAC fly gave the Mountain Lions the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
· NGU's David Lewis answered with a solo HR to center. Landon Shaw hit a SAC fly to tie the game at two.
· The Crusaders added more in the third. Pat Monteith, David Lewis, and Kaleb Hall all picked up RBIs. NGU led 5-2.
· Landon Shaw hit a two-run HR in the fifth inning. Then, Bryce Roddey had an RBI double to make the score 8-2.
· Ethan Stamps went yard to kick off the sixth.
· Kaleb Hall added the final run for the Crusaders in the eighth.
· North Greenville had 12 hits to Young Harris' six.
