Murray and Beck Shine in DH Wins vs Francis Marion

FLORENCE, SC. In a conference showdown with Francis Marion, Young Harris doesn't miss a step yet again and picks up two wins over the Patriots (Mar 24th). In both games, YHC was the first to threaten at the plate and maintained the lead throughout. Zach Murray and Dylan Beck didn't let up either, each with great performances this afternoon.

The Mountain Lions advance to 24-5 overall and are 11-3 in Conference Carolinas. The Patriots move to 13-15 overall and are 6-8 in Conference Carolinas. YHC will take on Francis Marion tomorrow in Florence, SC for a 2PM first pitch (Mar 25th).

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Game 1:

· Young Harris came out on top of Francis Marion 3-1.

· Jeremy Begora hit a SAC fly for the Mountain Lion's first run in the third.

· In the top of the fifth, Jarret Ford singled to center field to drive in a run for YHC. Ford was 1-3 with two RBIs.

· The Patriot's sole run of game one came from Noah Stout's homer to right center in the eighth inning.

· Jarret Ford flew out to center field to bring home James Basham in the ninth. Basham finished 2-4 at the plate.

· Zach Murray added win number five to his resume. In seven IP, he didn't allow any runs and picked up six K's. Dylan Beck recorded his sixth save of the season after two IP and four K's.

· This was a high-strikeout game for both squads. Young Harris had eight and Francis Marion had 10.

Game 2:

· The Mountain Lions edge the Patriots with a final score of 6-3.

· Ethan Stamps put YHC on the board with a HR down the right field line in the second inning.

· In the third, the Young Harris put up five runs. Drew Bray, Jeremy Begora, Steven Spell, Ethan Stamps, and Kade Smallwood each picked up an RBIs in this huge offensive inning.

· Drew Bray finished 2-4 with an RBI and Ethan Stamps was 2-3 with two RBIs.

· FMU's first run came from a wild pitch in the third, followed up by Peyton Wilson's RBI single. The Patriots trailed 3-6.

· Dylan Beck was awarded the win and Ryan Cross was granted the save. Beck recorded five strikeouts in his outing while Cross recorded three.
