Young Harris, GA| The Bulldogs from Barton College made the trip over from Wilson, North Carolina to face the Mountain Lions on Saturday (Mar. 23) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field. In the first period, Barton stayed close to YHC, trailing 5-3 at the end of the first. As the half went on, the Mountain Lions took control, outscoring Barton College 5-1 in the second to take a 10-4 lead into the half. Ally Cattoni scored three goals in the first half alone and would end the game with five total goals. In the third period, Barton got closer to catching up with YHC, but could not do so successfully and trailed 12-7 after three. In the final fifteen minutes, the Bulldogs outscored YHC 6-3, but it was too little, too late, and the Mountain Lions earned an 18-13 Conference Carolinas win.
YHC advanced to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in Conference Carolinas games. The Bulldogs dropped to 4-7 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Young Harris returns to action on Friday (Mar. 29) at 1 p.m., where they hit the road to play the University of Mount Olive in a Conference Carolinas matchup.
