COLUMBUS, GA| In run-rule fashion, the Mountain Lions defeated the Columbus State Cougars with a final score of 13-1 (Feb 16th). Zach Murray was nearly perfect on the mound, as he gave up only two hits and picked up six strikeouts on seven innings pitched. Jeremy Begora and Jack Enrico led the Mountain Lion offense with three RBIs a piece.
The Mountain Lions advance to a perfect 8-0, while the Cougars fall to 3-6. YHC will take on the Columbus State Cougars in Game 2 of the series tomorrow (Feb 17th) at 2PM.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Jack Enrico (2-2) hit a two-run HR to right field in the second, followed by Jeremy Begora's (3-4) solo HR in the third. The Mountain Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead as Jackson Kemp (2-4) found a hole in the left side of the diamond and knocked in another.
- Columbus State's only run of the day came from a SAC fly to center field with the bases loaded, hit by Isaiah Hernandez.
- CSU's pitching struggles and fielding errors helped the Mountain Lions stretch the lead in the seventh to 13-1.
