Columbus, GA| The Mountain Lions have now started off their 2024 campaign with an astonishing 9-0 overall record, dominating at the plate and on the mound. YHC kept rolling with a 10-2 victory against Columbus State University on Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon that included 18 hits. Young Harris pitchers were also on their game today, striking out 10 Cougars batters. Young Harris is off to their best start since becoming a four-year institution.
YHC improves to 9-0 on the season, and CSU falls to 3-7 overall. The Mountain Lions return to action tomorrow when they take on the Cougars of Columbus State University at 1 p.m. for the final game of their three-game series.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

Jarret Ford, Marco Colina, and Jack Enrico each recorded 2 RBIs for the Mountain Lions.

On the mound, Travis Burnette pitched five strong innings for YHC, recording four strikeouts, and surrendering just two runs.

Dylan Beck came in to relieve Burnette and recorded six Ks from the bump in four scoreless innings.

Young Harris dominated in the top half of the 5th inning, recording six hits, and scoring eight runs.

Leo Gianonni entered the game for CSU in the top half of the 5th inning and settled things down for the Cougars, getting out of a tough situation.
