GREENWOOD, S.C. | Oliver Zohn drove in four runs to lead Lander University past Young Harris College 10-5 in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Saturday (April 22) afternoon at Dolny Stadium.
The Bearcats improved to 21-24 overall and to 14-12 in the Peach Belt, while the Mountain Lions, who are ranked 17th in Collegiate Baseball and 11th in the NCBWA, fell to 33-13 and 21-8. The teams wrap up their weekend series with a 1 p.m. game Sunday (April 23).
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- YHC took a 1-0 lead on Steven Spell's first-inning homer to left field, but Lander opened up a 6-1 lead after scoring three runs in the first and fourth innings.
- The Mountain Lions got a run back in the sixth. Spell doubled and later scored on Jeremy Begora's single to center field.
- Young Harris scored its final two runs in the seventh. Jackson Kemp and James Basham each drove in a run.
- Zach Murray (5-4) took the loss for the Mountain Lions.
- Young Harris only collected five hits with Spell having two.
