Lander defeats Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Alyssa Suchan scored six goals to lead Lander University past Young Harris College 20-7 in a Gulf South Conference women's lacrosse match Wednesday (April 19) at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The Bearcats improved to 10-5 overall and to 4-1 in the GSC, while the Mountain Lions fell to 6-10 and 1-4. YHC wraps up its season Saturday (April 22) when they travel to Montevallo, Alabama, for a 4 p.m. Central time GSC match against the University of Montevallo.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

Morgan Lewis led Young Harris with three goals, while Ally Cattoni had two goals. Emily Flynt and Mary Troyer were the other Mountain Lion scorers.
Cattoni and Felisse Richard had an assist apiece.
Ella Hancock picked up three draw controls, while Belle Hardwick, Cattoni and Troyer had two each.
Cattoni and Parker Vaughan had three ground balls,m while Hardwick, Suzanne Moore, Lewis and Troyer each scooped up two.
Troyer also caused two turnovers.
Abby Gallagher and Maddy Meyers each registered three saves in the YHC net.
